Loss prevention for takeaways & fast-food shops

Your till can balance every night — and still be leaking.

TillGuard cross-checks what your till records against what actually happens at the counter — and sends you only the moments worth a look, each with a short video clip. Chicken shops, kebab and pizza shops, chippies. We do the watching. You make the call.

Fully managed · Built for independent owners — one shop or several · Footage seen only by our review team, under a written data agreement

Illustrative alert.

The problem

The costliest till losses never show up in your reports

An order rung short in the rush. A drawer opened with no sale. Cash taken and never entered into the system. At close the count can still come out right — which means you may never know it happened. Fast food is exactly where it hides best: high cash volume, constant rushes, rotating staff, and an owner who can't be behind the counter every shift.

£3,650+ a year — the cost of just one £10 cash sale a day quietly pocketed in one shop. The books still balance, so no report will ever show it.
£0.00 is what your end-of-day report shows when a competent skimmer has been through the till. Balanced books are not proof.
× shifts you can only be in the shop for some of them. Whatever the till leaks on the shifts you're not there, it leaks every week — quietly.

"How would you know if someone pocketed a £10 cash sale? You wouldn't — the books still balance."

How it works

We watch the till so you don't have to

No software to learn, nothing for your staff to do differently, and no hours lost scrubbing through recordings. You just get the alerts that matter.

1

We set it up — under an hour, one visit

We use the cameras you already have and connect, read-only, to the records your till already keeps. It can't ring a sale, change a price, or touch your money.

2

It cross-checks, we review

The system compares till activity against what the camera saw and flags the moments that don't line up. Everyday legitimate activity is filtered out; anything genuinely off is checked by our team.

3

Only the moments worth a look reach you

You get a message on your phone — the time, the amount, and a short clip of exactly what happened. Two minutes of your attention instead of two hours of footage.

It flags — it never accuses. TillGuard points you at the handful of moments worth a look and shows you the evidence. Most of what it surfaces turns out to be honest mistakes — a mis-ring, wrong change, a sale forgotten in a rush. Those cost you money too. Every actual judgement about a person is made by you, never by the system.
What it catches

Built to spot what a balanced till hides

No single record reveals this kind of loss — the receipts look normal and the count comes out right. TillGuard looks at more than one thing at once, and flags the gaps between them.

🧾

Sales that were never rung up

Cash changes hands at the counter, but no matching transaction ever appears in the till.

↩️

Voids and refunds that don't fit

A sale rung up, cash taken — then voided or refunded after the customer's gone.

🗄️

The drawer opened with no sale

No-sale openings and cash movements with no transaction to explain them.

📉

Patterns across shifts

One odd moment means nothing. The same pattern on the same shift, week after week, is worth knowing about.

Why we keep the method private: the specific ways we detect and confirm these events are proprietary — deliberately. The less widely the how is known, the harder it is for anyone to work around, which is exactly what makes it effective.
Built for independent owners

You can't be behind the counter every shift. This can.

TillGuard was built for the owner of a chicken shop, kebab or pizza shop, or chippy — one shop, or a couple — where the losses are real but a loss-prevention department isn't.

📍

Know your shop, even from home

Trends by employee and shift — so you can see when the till is drifting and act on the pattern, not a hunch. The shifts you're never in for are usually the ones that need the look.

🗓️

One short visit, then it just runs

Set up in under an hour, in the quiet part of the day. No downtime, nothing for your staff to learn, nothing changes at the counter.

🤝

Got a second shop? It scales.

Simple per-shop pricing on one monthly bill, and one person who knows your setup — not a ticket queue. Run several shops? It works the same way across all of them.

Your data

Your footage is seen by us — and no one else

This is loss prevention on till events — not staff surveillance, and not a cloud service hoarding your recordings. We take only what the review needs, and it's covered in writing.

🎯

Only what the review needs

Your recordings stay on your own recorder, exactly as today. We securely retrieve short windows of till-area footage — never a live feed of your shop — review them on our own systems, and delete them once reviewed. Flagged clips are kept for you for 90 days, or until you delete them. Nothing is uploaded to any cloud for storage or processing — the only thing that ever leaves our systems is the short clip we send to your phone.

🔒

Read-only, reversible

We read the records your till already keeps — what was rung, when, and the voids and no-sales. No customer card details, ever. You can switch the access off at any time; it's your system, your toggle.

📋

Compliant, in writing

Built to be GDPR- and ICO-friendly. Setup includes a plain-English data-processing agreement, a DPIA template and ready-to-use staff monitoring-notice wording. You remain in control as the employer — we make the paperwork straightforward instead of pretending it isn't needed.

Pricing

Less than one stolen tenner every four days

Simple per-shop pricing, fully managed. It pays for itself the first time a genuine issue is identified.

Running more than one shop? The founding rate applies to every shop for early customers — one rollout, one point of contact, one monthly bill.

Low-risk start

Try it in your shop — first quarter free

One shop is all it takes — if you run more than one, pick the one you're in least. We install it, it runs quietly in the background, and each month we sit down together and go through exactly what it found — every flagged moment, with its clip. For our first five shops, the first quarter costs nothing and the founding rate is locked for life. Then you decide whether to keep it.

Questions owners ask

Straight answers

I trust my staff — why would I need this?

Most owners say that, and most are right. This isn't about catching anyone — a clean month is a good result, because then you know instead of assuming. And most of what it flags isn't theft at all: it's honest mistakes — a mis-ring, wrong change, a sale forgotten in a rush. Trustworthy staff still cost you money by accident. This shows you where the till is drifting so you can fix the process, not the person.

Could it wrongly accuse one of my staff?

It can't, because it doesn't accuse — it flags. When the till and the camera don't line up, you see the clip and you decide what it means. It's deliberately tuned to show you too much rather than miss things: a false flag costs you thirty seconds; a missed one costs you money. Every judgement about a person is yours, never the system's.

Where does my footage go? Who sees it?

Your recordings stay on your own recorder, exactly as they do today. When a till moment needs a look, we securely retrieve just that short window of footage, review it on our own systems, and delete it once the review is done. It's seen by our review team and no one else — we never hold a library of your recordings, and nothing is uploaded to any cloud service for storage or processing. The handful of clips worth your eye are sent to your phone and kept for you in a secure evidence area for 90 days, or until you delete them. When you leave, everything is deleted. All of it is set out in a written data agreement.

Is this legal? Do I need my staff's consent?

You already record — this reads footage you've already got against your till records. Because it links footage to till events, it counts as workplace monitoring, and UK law is specific about that: your staff must be properly informed, and the monitoring must be necessary and proportionate. We don't leave you to figure that out — setup includes a written data-processing agreement, a DPIA template and ready-to-use staff notice wording, and we walk you through them. You stay the data controller; we act only on your written instructions.

Will it work with my till and my cameras?

Very likely — and we confirm it in a two-minute call before anything is booked. Three things need to be true: your till keeps the transaction records we need (the sales, voids and no-sales you already see on your end-of-day report), your recorder lets us securely retrieve short clips, and a camera has a clear view of the till. We check all three with you up front — and if your setup isn't a fit, we'll tell you straight.

Will it interfere with my till or slow down service?

No. It reads the records your till already keeps — the same sales, voids and cash entries you see on your end-of-day report. Read-only: it can't ring a sale, change a price, or touch your money. Your till and your cameras work exactly as they do today, and there's nothing for your staff to do differently.

What if it flags loads of things and wastes my time?

The design is a short list — the handful of moments worth a look, not a pile. Everyday legitimate activity is filtered out automatically, and our team checks what's left before anything reaches you. If it can't give you a short list, it isn't doing its job — and we'd tell you.

How does it actually work?

We cross-check what your till records against what actually happens at the counter, and flag the gaps. The clever part is spotting the cases that normally leave no trace. The specific methods are proprietary on purpose — the less widely known they are, the harder they are to work around, which is what keeps it effective for you.

What if it finds something — do I have to report it?

Entirely your call. We hand you what the till and the camera show; what you do with it is yours. Most owners simply want to know first, and handle it quietly.

We run more than one shop — how does that work?

Start with one shop and prove it over the first quarter. If it earns its keep, we add your other shops at your pace — one short install visit each, no downtime, nothing for your staff to learn. Pricing is per shop on a single monthly bill, and early customers get the founding rate on every shop they add.

Am I locked into a contract?

No. Month to month, and you can switch off our access at any time — it's your system, your toggle. The founding rate stays locked for as long as you stay, but staying is always your choice.
